I need some suggestions,

My mixer just died and I have no way of buying a new one right now. (I am a student) I have a SennHeiser Evolution microphone, which is XLR. Is there any way of plugging in my mic directly in to my Mac?

This was my budget system back in the day. Mic, into an impendance matcher ($15) to convert it to 1/4" which was then plugged into a beat RadioShack mixer powered by a 9volt that I found on eBay ($10) and then into my computer soundcard.

Here's what Ive done.

I went to Radioshack and bought a XLR to phono adaptor, *low impedance mic to high impedance input (Mac)* I tried it out and Coaster picks up the mic fine, straight into the laptop. Problem solved since I dont need more than one track only recording acoustic and vocals. Never needed a 8 channel mixer, which BTW is dead.
