Ok, I need help with adobe audition. I recentley bought a new computer because my old one is well getting old. on my old PC i use to push record and record my vocals and it would be in stereo and it would record on both sides (left and right) and now with my new PC i push record and it only records on one side (left i believe). If i put my new PC on mono records in the center but the audio clip doesnt have a left or right, just center and it sounds terrible (the quality) i want to know how to get my old settings back :S any help will be apprietiated!

info on version of AA and whether you are tracking in edit or multi-track window would be helpful, as far as adjusting settings

in point of fact unless you are using a stereo mic or two mics set up to record stereo it is/was unlikely (to point of being impossible) to have recorded 'in stereo' before

single source = some variation of mono (to record 'stereo' you have to have more then one transducer (mic) that is the 'law')

what you saw before was a situation that you duplicated the single source in the potential dual tracks of a stereo file . . . double the file size for same audio as mono file

with respect to it sounding terrible, that is unlikely to be correlated solely with recording in stereo vs. mono and would require significantly more info to even begin to address (computer specs, OS, Audio card, which drivers, which mic, what metering is available, how did you monitor recording (oh, some kind of specifics concerning what you mean by 'terrible'), etc.)
