Help with vocal effect

So I'm new here and i don't know if this is the right forum for this topic. I've been wondering how to get the sound effect on the song "Time Bomb Baby" by Stephen Jerzak. Specifically from 2:19-2:40. I'm talking about how the word is split up and keeps repeating the same syllable up and down

i'm gonna guess they gated it, or maybe just chopped holes in it. plus a healthy slathering of autotune of course.
