I saw sort of a similar topic as this a few days ago, but my situation is a little different.
After a while of doing direct recordings, I've decided on entering the wonderous world of miking my guitar. I've been experimenting on my acoustic. I'm using a Tone Port UX2 and an SM-57. The recording itself is fine, but as you've guessed I have alot of background noise.
I only have the option of recording in the same room as my PC. The closet in my room is smaller than a phone booth, so I don't have room to record there. I'm thinking the main culprit is my PC. It's a relatively quite PC, but when my mic is on, I can hear alot of air in my headphones.
I live in an apartment, so I don't want to do any construction and my funds are limited as well.
Do you think that putting blankets on the when I'm using the mic would help? Are there other simple ways to limit that "air" sound?
