Help with Preamps!?!

Looking for opinions on The best 2-4 channel preamp for all around quality (drums, guitars, vocs) for under $1000.

What do you plan to connect it to?

I am running a Pro Tools Digi003+ Rack. Looking to add 3 rd party preamps for recording high end audio.

Ah, ok. Cool.

I was in the same boat not so long ago. You may have fun finding a decent four channel unit.
As i recall, RME had one but it was pricey.
A pair of two channel units might be the way forward.


I ended up buying an 8 channel adat unit. Focusrite platinum octopre LE as I recall.

I really like my BLA Auteur, Audient Mico and you should be able to get both for around that much. 1 even comes with a Spdif converter.
