Hello guys, I am new to this board, and to the whole MiniDisk World, I have a mac 733, and I was wondering is it possible to record on the MD and then transfer to the mac, and can I burn a cd and then play it on the md?

I ma a Digital filmmaker, and I want to have some back sound on set, what would be a good microphone to use with the MD?

One more thing, I bought it yesterday and it was demo, witch it means "AS IS" no hock ups, no cables, no manuals, does anyone knows a way to get this manuals, or can someone e-mail me, or would Sony provide that for me? I do have the receipt. Thank you I hope to educate myself, and help you guys in the future.

Here's info on minidiscs and everything you need to know about them: www.minidisc.org .

Here's the manual you need: http://www.minidisc.org/part_Manuals.html . Just scroll down and you'll find the Sony MZ-R37 manual as a PDF file and as a HTML-page.

You can't play CD's on an MD player, but you can hook up your MZ-R37 to a CD players digital output and get very good sounding recordings of your CD. You need a cable called TOS-link or optical S/P-DIF (it's the same thing). Any store which sells MD's should be able to help you with this i you tell them what stuff you have.

Hope this helps,

micmac, you rule, thanks you so much!

My pleasure. BTW, that's an awsome computer you've got sitting next to you (the Mac/733). Man, i wish i had one, too.

Good luck with the filming stuff!
