Help with MIDI!!!!

Hey all. I've got a Roldand Alpha Juno 2 that I'm using as a controller. Its plugged into a Sound Blaster PCI 512. My problem is that when I record a midi track into Acid Pro 4.0, the track is soo quiet even with the main volume and midi volume turned all the way up. I've been through the midi menu on the Juno 2 and all I can find related to volume is one setting called "volume". Its value is either on or off. I've tried both settings and it does not make a difference. I've been through the manual for the Juno 2 and there isn't much on MIDI. I''ve also submitted a problem notice to Creative Labs and so far they cant seem to find any solution.

Did you try to see how it sounded switching to Acid's built-in DXi? It's general midi, so it should get you similar results. If there's no problem there, and the problem remains when you point at the SB card, then you need to dig a little deeper on the SB. I remember there being a bunch of separate level controls on my SBLive card (which is disabled now) - so if your wav slider is up and your midi slider is down, then you'd only have a volume problem on your midi track (but your DXi should be handled like a wav, I think).

All I can think of for now.

Built in dxi? I'm not sure what that is. I have checked the SB mixer and the midi volume is right cranked.

Some older keyboards have trouble sending enough velocity at "note on". Check some of the midinotes for values. You can probably add some in acid pro, maybe even at recording time.

DXis and VSTis are virtual instruments. Acid Pro 4.0 ships with a built in general midi DXi. I don't like it much, but it might help you troubleshoot to point your midi track at the DXi and see if that solves anything.

I never used a Juno, so can't help you much there. Do you have another controller you could swap and see if it changes anything?
