Help with MIDI pleeez

What do I need to do to enable a soft synth as a cakewalk midi output?

My computer says that it has MS GS Wavetable software synth as the default, AND that it is using Delta1010's 1/2 output as the output (this is my main audio monitoring output).

However, this output does not show as an option in Cakewalk. I don't want to use my old soundcards synth. Basically, I'm using a cheap radio shack kind of keyboard's midi output to get the notes and I want to use DX synths to replay. Does that make any sense??? Help!

AFAIK you can not use the GS Wavetable when you are using WDM drivers. This will only work with MME drivers.

However, IMHO, you don't want to use the MS Wavetable anyway.

What Cakewalk program are you using? If Sonar, I would suggest starting with the Edirol VSC soft synth. To use it you need to set up two tracks - one midi and one audio. Patch the Edirol to the Audio track, and set the output of the midi track to the Edirol VSC.

(You can also do this via the synth rack which will set everything up for you. Then just enter your midi data, and voila!)
