its an interface for me to plug my instruments into and such. I havent seen any talk of these at all on this site. And i was wondering, do i still need a new sound card? and what else do you recommend for this?

I plan on recording pretty much solo. My room is set up fine, i have a m-audio nova mic, no monitors yet, but headphones. So any advice? all would help, thank you.

No, you don't still need a separate new sound card. That basically IS a soundcard, just one that's designed for recording.

Yea I pretty much started off with this .. Its nice simple and right to the point if you just trying to record and etc. You can put your mic , head phones , and monitors into this if thats what u wanted to know

so i dont need to buy a soundcard to make my computer sound better?

No, just plug your speakers into the audio outputs on the M-Audio box and use it instead of your internal sound card. Essentially, this IS your new sound card. You may even want to go as far as disabling or removing the internal card too, just to avoid any conflicts the devices might have.
