I just bought some gear yesterday, I got a g4 laptop and presonus firepod 8 preamp. The problem is when I try to install cubase it comes up unable to install, and thats all it wont let me install it. But theirs another problem, the firepod disk i got doesn't install right either. when ever I put the CD in, go in the folder it say drag to HD to install and i do that, and nothing happens, its just a blank folder. So what can I do?

It this a legit copy of Cubase? Do you have the Dongle installed? What is the exact error message you're getting?

Yes it is the legit copy, I do not pirate, it came with presonus firepod. Its called Cubase LE 1.07 oem, a blue disk with grey around it.

The exact error is:

"An error occurred that prevented the installation from completing."

mac os x version 10.4.5
1.33 ghz powerpc g4
512 mb ram
Firewire bus 400mb/sec

I'm not sure what else you need?

I called down to my music store where I purchased it, and the guy claims, after "doing research" that the version of Cubase LE I got, 1.07, is an older version compared to my Ibook.

So he said come down and he'll give me a different version. So ill try that, if someone can give me more suggestions ill try it, but tomorrow ill go out and get that "other version".

Iam starting to belive you have faulty disk! I cant understand that both disk wont install maybe one but not both...... I would go get the new disk's and keep us informed! ;)

Might be a 10.4.5 problem with the older software

Yeah thats what ill, ill update you guys when I get it, thanks though.
