Help with Identifying What's Inside a Speaker Box

So I found an old speaker box inside my garage that my dad made many, many years ago, and I decided I would try to turn it into a cabinet for my guitar. I open it up, and I'm a bit surprised with what's inside.

As you can see from the pictures, there's the small round thing, and then there's the bigger round thing. That much is expected. But what about this long, square-shaped horn thing? It has a black and red wire coming from it. Should I try to solder this to the 1/4'' jack, or would this cause bad things to happen?

Thanks for any insight into this mystery.

I believe the real mystery is whether or not to take you seriously.

Oh, I'll play along. You've got a three-way speaker there, with a horn tweeter, a midrange, and a woofer. I presume there is a crossover where all the wires are coming from. It would be something which a bunch of electronic-looking parts hanging off of it.

Anyway, I don't think you will be too enamoured with this box for your guitar. First, you probably only want to wire to the woofer, since most electric guitar cabs just use that. But there is no fill in this box to damp it (unless you just removed all of it for the picture), and the voice coil on the woofer looks really small. So I'd bet you are looking to build your own cab with a woofer that is designed as a guitar speaker pretty soon.
