Never Act Like U Know All
Hey folks whats up?

I want to hook up my Roland VG-99 guitar efx processor to my M-Audio Delta-66 with the digital connections. I've never messed with digital connections but I'm curious, unlike keyboards, etc that have L + R individual outs, there is only one rca type connector.

That is due to its a digital signal, not analog so the center connector is for signal and the shield is ground?

I just plug in at the vg-99 digital out rca connector http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?dsection=d_support&ObjectId=849 and one end into the M-Audio Delta-66 PCI http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta66.html and thats it? Or do I need to match up sample frequencies or clock something of another? I've heard the terms thrown around for years but it's like having a puzzle and you have all the pieces, but you dont have the main picture to see what your making.

Someone or a few people :) explain to me how all this works please. I appreciate it. And also if your gonna go into that, explain to me dithering. Been recording with Cubase VST since 1997, but I never got into the whole "digital connection thing" like word clock, etc.

Thanks in advance

Cheers
