Help with Guitar Tracks 2

After converting my files to a wav file format my CD software will not let me burn them. It claims that they are not 16 Bit. How do I change them to 16 bit? I can convert to 16 bit with pyro. But I can't get Pyro to convert files that are created in Guitar Tracks. Pyro will only record 16 bit from an analog sorce.
 
Best to do this in a wave editor such as Wavelab or Sound Forge. But you can do it in Sonar.

Open your Sonar project. Go to the file menu and choose export audio (I'm assuing this is what you did to create the original .wav in the first place). On the window that pops up there is a pull down menu labeled "bit depth". Select "16" and finish exporting. You should then get a 16 bit .wav file. Files that get burned to CD need to be 16 bit with a 44.1 sample rate.
 
I guess the problem is that Guitar tracks and Pyro have no wave editor. With the exception of Pyro's ability to convert an analog signal to 16 bit wave. Looks like I'm not totally free of analog just yet.
 
there has to be a way to get a mixed stereo wav 16/44.1 file from GUITAR TRACKS to burn to CD. this feature is standard in any multitracking software (excluding demo versions)...if GS does not have an EXPORT AUDIO function, then you probably need to use SAVE AS. there should be an option for 16 bit stereo wav file.

however, maybe you are trying to burn your tracks individually and not mixed together....if you can get to each track as a wav file why not just burn them as a data file? this way it doesn't matter what bit depth they are. or are you wanting to listen to each track individually in your car cd player or something....

i dunno, maybe i'm missing something.
 
What I'm doing is simply making a one track recording. Just my voice and guitar, for a simple demo that I want to mail to a publisher. I'm putting tunes to someone elses lyrics.
Is the problem that I'm only using one track? Sorry but I'm very new to all this.
 
Gitfiddle........... Guitar Tracks records in 16bit, and the default sample rate is 44.1k. Did you use Tools>Mixdown audio> export to.....? I don't think GT could have recorded any other bit depth. Also, you say you just want 1 track, voice and guitar, for a demo. You might want to expand on that a little - record the song, voice and guitar together. Then record just the guitar again on track 2 (and again on track 3) and just the vocal on track 4 ( and track 5 ). You'll get better balance between vocal and guitar, and might be able to pan the racks to get a better stereo image. Good luck.
 
Would you believe I tryed burning from a bun file? Growing pains are terrible. Anyway this is the first time that I've tryed to burn from GT2. I've only burned from Pyro previously. So now I'll attempt to do the Tools>Mix Down thing. I will also try the multiple tracks thing that you suggested. That sounds like a winner. Thanks Chesterfield.
