If you have a DAW with let's say 2 effects processors, then you can only use two effects at mixdown, right? I mean say if you want 3 different reverb effects at mixdown, you'd have to have an extra reverb processor, right? Is it normal practice to print effects to tracks to get around this problem (that is, without spending tons of $ on processors)? Sorry if the answer is painfully obvious. $$$ is defintely a factor in my studio-to-be.
Thanks.

If you don't have enough signal processors, you do what you have to. But no, effects are not usually printed while tracking.
I used to have to do it from time to time in the past.

You also have to have enough sends to use them all when you do have enough processors.

You can use the buss to apply a single reverb to multiple tracks within your mixer enviroment. If you run out of plug space, you can always bounce a track with the effect you are using, leaving the original track undisturbed if you dont like it in the end. This is called non-destructive editing, afterwards freeing up a plug for another effect.
