So for the past month I've been trying to find the best drum vst to record a few bands. I first started out with ezdrummer. It was not what I was looking for. Bass drum and snare was much to be desired. I then upgraded to addictive drums. It sounded great until it was tracked. Samples were distorted and didn't sound good at all. I'm looking for a drum vst that has great samples that is easy to track. Any suggestions. Superior drummer?

I like superior. I have slate plat as well, but to be honest they don't get much use beyond blending with superior.

I am curious if you know; I use Trigger Plat for support layers as I record acoustic drums mostly. Does the SSD Drum Suite contain the same samples as Trigger, or are they 'pre' produced? I have to treat the Trigger samples just as I do for in studio recorded ones. I'm just curious because when I use EZD, I have to replace them with Slate to keep my sanity and have control over the sound of them.

Slate trigger and Slate Platinum are supposed to be the same samples. I don't own trigger though just Platinum 3.5 (and eagerly awaiting SSD 4).

Not quite sure what you mean, all of slate's samples are heavily processed.

You mean as far as routing them separately for mixing?

For the record, superior and EZ drummer sound nothing alike. Actually I really don't care for EZ drummer with the exception of the Nashville EZX. All of the Superior drummer libraries are much more natural sounding with more room to mix how you like.
