Hey, I'm new to the form in fact this is my first post!

So I need some help with a few things if you'd all be so kind.

I have recorded with my band in a studio A few times and have gotten the basics of how things work. now I'm looking to demo out tracks for my band using programs like ez drummer or superior drummer, vst amp simulators, impulses, and various other vst tracking options for vocals.

I have been working with a copy of cubase 5 off and on for the last few years and that seems to be working out decently with the CL1 audio interface I have.

Recently I have been getting hung up on a few things little glitches here and there. I don't have my physical copy of cubase 5 anymore and I was considering getting cubase 7 elements. Thinking maybe the vst programs I have are to new for the cubase 5 system... I could be completely out to lunch on that though.

Since I have to reinstall cubase regardless My question is will cubase elements be able to handle midi mapping, and the various vst plug ins I'll be using or should I stick to cubase 5.

I'm not looking to re learn a daw so I'll be sticking with the cubase line. I'm also really newbie to recording and have very minimal experience other than recording guitar tracks and cut and paste work. This will be my first using ez drummer as well.

It is a matter of taste I guess. I have Pro Tools 10 and like it a lot!

I am not sure if you can use multiple outputs from EZDrummer (or any VSTi) in Cubase Elements. I know you cannot in LE versions of Cubase. All the other stuff should work. Try Googling comparison between Cubase 7 versions. I am about to start a session so not sure I have the time to find that.

At first glance it looks like you should be all good.
