We need to know what you're trying to do with it --- what your goal is and what gear you already have --- to make an accurate recommendation.

Some of the units you listed have specific purposes, some are more general...

want good cheap preamp? ya gotta go with the m-audio dmp3

it doesnt add alot of character to the sound..but does give it a bit of warmth..great from hiphop recording

my 2 cents

i have just a peavey dynamic mic, cheap sound card, im using it for rap i dont use any instruments, and im not recording with anyone else, im mostly trying to amplifie the mic, it sounds clear but realy low, if i use audio buddy wont that bypass the soundcard ? i found a cheap mixer tapco mix60 but im not sure wether to get that or a pre amp, im trying to buy peice by peice i can get the soundcard later, but i want to be able to record soon, im trying to stay under $100,

dude..get the dmp3..its just a bit over 100..its what you need IMO

I second the dmp3 I just grabbed 2 on ebay for < $150 each.
One of them I got shipped for $115.00

with the dmp3 i still will need a interface, i found griffin mic2, and imic usb audio interface for under 35, will that work right? for at least a lil while and then i can get a better interface down the road when i have sumthing to spend, perhaps a emu-404 pci or a m-audiophile i can only afford to spend around 100 now,so what your sayin is the audiobuddy and fast track are a waist of money, because i cant uprgrade them, ill have to get a pre amp and a interface all over again?, but they offer me a preamp and interface for a decent price, one last ?, will a rolls gci404 do the trick?

Yep.

That will do the trick. Since you already have the Peavey mic you just need something to get it into the computer at a decent level.

Get it here for $99.95 no sales tax and free shipping...

what do you mean by interface? the dmp3 can plug into a standered soundcard with a couple of 1/4" converters...and mic goes into the preamp...no interface needed unless your looking for EQ or something like that
