hello, let me get straight to the problem. I want to be able to record my own music, and vocals, into my computer, so that everything syncs-up together. I have a MCP 2000, a Proteus (Keyboard Module), a M-Audio Keyboard Controller, a condeser mic, and a computer with sonar producer edition. I need to know how to get started recording, music and vocals with this set-up. My music will be recorded into the MPC 2000, and dumped into the computer 1 track or 2 at a time. But I need the music tracks to sync-up together. My controller is also USB with 1 Midi port. I also need to burn my finished tracks to CD, I already have soundforge. Do I need a Midi Timepiece to sync my MPC 2000 track into sonar, or is there another way to sync everything up? Please help this newbie!

Hey Pastor - Sonar will send out MIDI sync, but I'm curious why you want to record it to the AKAI first rather than just straight to Sonar? If you did that you wouldn't need to worry about it... is it for portability?

I do all my recording into the MPC 2000, I use it as a sequencer. I put everything into song mode (Just the way everything is supposed to go), then I record all the tracks into sonar, and add vocals, then mix. But I need every track to sync from MPC 2000 into sonar.

Gotcha - well, it should work via MIDI sync - although I've never used Sonar in that type of set-up, I've used ProTools to do basically what you're doing and it worked great... I'm sure Sonar will work in a similar fashion.

thanks Doc for the input. I'm going to try that later today God bless brother!
