ok people.

im faily new to this, but this is my setup.

i have a tascam p150 pro audio amp, some turntables, a denon smx2000 mixer, loudspeakers.. now the question is...

could sombody please tell me the correct, safe way to set this system up? the amp pushed 150 watts..the speakers take 150 watts.

thanks

I'm not familiar with the denon mixer, but if it has 2 phono inputs, plug Turntable 1 into phono 1 of mixer and the same for turntable 2 into phono in of mixer. The outputs of your misxer go direct into the "AUX or CD IN" of your amp. Then hook up your
speakers to the amp's speaker terminals and your'e ready to go.

thanks much!

i have one question: will any speakers work with any amp? are there special connectors? etc etc?

thanks again..

Can you describe what type of speaker terminals your amp has. Also what is the Ohm impedance of your speakers. Is it 2-4 or 8ohms? For example, if your amp speaker terminals indicate only 8 ohms @150 watts and your speakers are 4ohms @ 150 watts, you will most certainly blow out your speakers hi-volume levels.

Actually, thats wrong.
You have to find out the impedance (ohms)of your speakers. Then find out what your amp can run at. If the impedance of your speakers is lower than what your amp can handle, you're sure to overheat you amp.
Most home amps can go down to 8 ohms. Most Car amps and professional amps can go down to 4 ohms, sometimes even 2 ohms!
There is an advantage to using speaker with less of an impedance, if your amp can handle it. You're sure to put out more power.
Impedance is resistance. The less resistance your speakers are creating, the harder the amp will work to put out more power. If your amp is not capable of working that hard, it will overheat.
As far as blowing out your speakers goes, know their limits. Don't worry about that in regards to impedance. Worry about your amp.

My bad! Boris your'e correct. I had it backwards. Need to leave them Budweisers alone! :)
