Hi, I just got cubase and I'm having trouble with a few things.

My headphones sound normal through the mic but when I record, the playback is so loud it crackles and the waveform is really huge. Any way to get them to match?

When I have Monitor on there is a big delay, any way to correct this?

I noticed my latency is over 600, any way to lower it? I suspect I have my vst and device settings wrong.

What is in between your mic and your computer? Mixer, audio/digital interface? Cubase is probably oversampling the hell out of whatever you're recording because the input is waaaay too high (that's most likely why it's crackling). If your waveform is touching the top and bottom of the track then you need to turn down your audio interface. If you are unable to turn the input down, you can lower the track's level by clicking once on the take and dragging the small box in the top-middle of the take down to a reasonable level (as seen below, the bottom left track is highlighted and low enough to process)

As far as latency goes, see if there is a setting in your mixer software (not cubase), and see if there is an option for higher or lower latency. If your computer just sucks (like mine), try monitoring before the signal hits the computer and remove monitoring on cubase.

Sounds to me like you are clipping. Turn down the input gain.

delay / latency

Hey yall, thank you tons for the help. I guess the only major problem i have now is that i have a latency / delay when i have monitor on. I do like hearing the fx when i sing so i'm trying to find a way to get it to stop delaying. I'm wondering if it's a soundcard thing or is the audiogram6 incapable of doing real time monitor recording?

(I did play with the buffer settings, etc and brought it down as much as i could)
