OK here goes:

First of all I'm 15 years old and I really want to create electronic/dance music and do remixes. I'm really serious about it...I'm determined to do it. I really love music.

Anyway I have a Roland MC-303(with MIDI in/out) and a PC. I was thinkin' about getting Cakewalk Home Studio 9, but I have a few questions:

1. If I hook the MC-303 up to the PC and use Cakewalk, can I get the same sounds from the MC-303 that it does without Cakewalk, it's just that Cakewalk lets me record them and edit them?

2. I know it's a recording studio but what exactly does Cakewalk Home Studio 9 do??? Does it let you loop a particular sound from external MIDI gear and mix it(fade it in and out) with other sounds you record to your PC?

3. Can I record a sound into Cakewalk with a keyboard, put a drum machine in and record another sound and still have the first sound from the keyboard to mix with(and can I hear it while recording with the drum machine)?

4. And finally, how can I hook a regular tape deck up to my PC so I can record my finished Cakewalk song onto a regular cassette tape(or can I even do that!)??

PLEASE HELP!,
Andrew! :)

You should probably do 2 things. 1) Go to the Cakewalk website and read the info they have there about their products. 2) Go to a music store and have them demo a product for you. If you buy the product from them, it may cost a bit more than the net, but they are normally willing to help you out with problems etc. Also, as you see products in action, you will develop a lot more questions.
