i'm a drummer .. trying to record my band

on the pearl drummers forum someone said something about using an ardvark or an edirol or motu from the outs on a mixer and putting each part on the mixer into a different slot on the interface. and it will get all seperate tracks on a computer i think.

i don't have much money but i was looking at this

it's $300 cheaper than the motu, and i need a usb not firewire because i'll be on my laptop and i don't want to f**k with installing a firewire port.

what do you think any suggestions

If you've got a mixer, that edirol unit will give you at least 8 seperate tracks

thats exactly what i needed to know. thank you. i think i'll be saving up some extra money and get that instead of submixing my drums and running it thru a lexicon lambda (what i was going to get until I discovered the edirol)
