Ok i just bought the DMT-8VL off ebay and im doing pretty good on it (seeing as how it came with no manual). But my only problem with it is this.
I'll hook in my guitar to input 1, record the track and it sounds fine and dandy. Then I'll hook in the mic and lay down the vocals on track 2, that also sounds good, but when i play it back, the guitar and vocals comes out of track 2, they are not seperate. This happens also when i layer over a guitar solo on track 3, both the rhythm guitar and vocals are on track three. This basically makes it impossible to justify the levels. It is really pissing me off and i have no idea if it is some option or if it is permanent, someone help me out. thanks! Also if anyone knows about an online manual for the DMT-8VL, let me know cause it would help me out a lot. Please respond!

ok, sounds like you are listening back to the first track via the main mixer buss while recording the second. Anything on the main buss will be recorded to the new tracks along with the instruments on the inputs. This is meant to happen - it's a good way of bouncing tracks together when you need more than eight tracks.
To keep the sounds separate:
When you record new tracks you have to make sure the selector switch for the tracks you have already recorded is set to the middle (not track and not input). To monitor the other tracks whilst recording a new one you must use the Monitor mixer buss. Do this by turning the monitor level knob on those tracks towards 'track'. This will come through the headphone socket on the front and the monitor output jacks on the back.
Hope this helps.
