Help on choosing software for live use.

I want to be able to play loops, one-shots, samples in real time with a set of v-drums as triggers. I know Propellerheads Reason would do this, but I'm looking for something a little less complex.

Any ideas would be great.

I was thinking of acid, but I didn't think it was able to play loops with triggers. I thought it could only play virtual instruments with a external midi trigger. Gonna have to check that out.

Any other suggestions?

Ableton live is designed to do what you are describing
 
if you think reason is complex or complicated in any way, then i think you're going to be in trouble with just about any other app. reason is the simplest music application that i've probably ever used. it's the only program i've ever used in which i was able to write out a song from beginning to end, the first time i opened it, without using a manual or help files.
 
I don't want to write songs...I just want to trigger samples...nothing else..So yeah...Reason is a little overkill..
