I am currently trying to record music with Sony Acid Music 9.0 software program. My interface is Lexicon Omega box. I know I am supposed to hit CTRL>Q to get a track (for the acid music software) on the computer to choose for whatever instrument I have connected to the Omega box. The problem is that the recording is taking place on only "half a stereo" rather than "full mono". What I mean by that is that after recording on track, the playback comes out through only one speaker (what I am calling "half stereo") rather than both speakers. I know there is something wrong because when I try to connect my chosen input (on the Omega) to a track on Acid Music program, I am not getting a "mono" option to select so that I can assign one track to connect with the input from the Omega. The Sony Acid program shows its connection to the Omega in PAIRS ONLY. It reads, "1 and 2 in" "1 and 2 out", "3 and 4" out, etc. Even though I have selected a MONO option by pushing a button on the front of the Omega, I do not seem to be able to get a separate "track 1" or track2 off the acid music program. As I said earlier, if I ignore the problem and record, the playback comes out from only one of the two stereo monitors. What should I do? Is my Omega interface box faulty? Thanks.

I don't know Sony Acid, not sure who here uses it, but there is a section of the forum just for Sony users, you might try there.
I suspect that there is an Options choice somewhere in Acid where you can choose Mono/Stereo on new tracks, you just need to find where that is!

I know not of Acid either (is it like Sony Soundforge? If so download the trial of that, it is pretty straightforward).

I suggest you K.I.S.Sir and download Audacity and get the tracks sorted in that which will prove out the hardware which, IMHO, is most unlikely to be faulty.

Dave.
