I’m having problems with a few of my effects plug-ins. They were inserted in tracks and busses and saved in various SONAR 2.2 project bundles, and have worked fine in the past. Now when I open some of those projects I get the following error messages.
Cakewalk Compressor/Gate
The following plug-ins are referred to by this project, but could not be found. Please verify that they have been installed correctly. Warning: overwriting this file will result in permanent loss of these effects.
Cakewalk FX Compressor Gate/Track 6
Cakewalk FX Compressor Gate/Track 7
TC Works Reverb
Unable to patch REVERB. The error reported was: an unknown error occurred during processing, possibly caused by an invalid parameter. It is likely that this effect is incompatible with SONAR. Would you like to remove REVERB from all menus in the future? Yes / No
I’ve checked, and both plug-ins are still on my hard drive in the same location they always were. They also show up in the Plug-in Manager that I downloaded from Cakewalk.
I can insert Cakewalk Compressor/Gate in new or existing projects and it seems to work fine, but I can’t insert it in the project that shows the error message every time I open it up. All other Cakewalk plug-ins seem to work OK. The TC Works Reverb can be inserted in some busses only (not all) of new or existing projects, but I get the error message when I try to insert it in any track…
Has anyone run into this problem and resolved it? I use SONAR 2.2 on a PIII/800 with 512 RAM and dual hard drives. I’ve run scan disk and defrag, but that hasn’t changed anything. The only change I’ve made in my setup recently was to change from using an MME driver to ASIO (I use an Aardvark Q10 sound card and interface), although I don’t see why that would affect the plug-ins…
Any ideas?
