Hey guys,

I'm needing some creative input. Listen to this song <--CLICKY
I'm looking for ideas about what instruments to add.
What say you??

Thanks!

Cool...that synth stuff adds some variety to the beginning of the song...

I might pull the guitars in a touch, the panning sounds pretty wide in my headphones.
The vocals are gonna take a hit if you do that so they may need to be pushed up a db...

Bass/Guitar/Drum Levels seem pretty even. Bass is a little rumbly and could use more definition for me...

If I were to recommend additions it would be more synth parts and guitar solos through the song....good foundation....

I think the song could use a counter melody of some sort or a few guitar licks thrown in between lyric phrases here and there. Something to give the listener a little more to listen to.

The counter melody might be something like a soloing guitar playing deep in the background behind the vocals or a synth adding a little more rhythm to the song.

I like the guitars panned wide like that, but think they should come down just a smidge to give a little more room for the vocals.

Have fun with this song, it's a great start.
Cheers,

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I actually have the guitars panned as far as they will go, double tracked.
I think here is where I need to find someone to collaborate with. I get to this point, and all I can think of is more guitar. Believe me, the synth is a departure from my "norm."
If anyone is really bored, feel free to load this MP3 into your sequencer and have a go with adding some stuff.

Double track vocals.

a sixteenth-note feel keyboard sequence on the root note halfway through the second verse.

/shrugs/

It really doesn't need much, you could make this work all by itself just by cutting some stuff away and building the song up.

I'm gonna try some synth parts, for sure. I like the idea of rhythmic, sort of percusive part. Something to help motor the song along, and to help it build.

Thanks!

Its a good sound. I could use more of the synth stuff, and a bit more lead vox. Nice production.
