Help needed in selecting mic pres-style of V76 or 1073 4 acoustic guitar

I am looking for advise on the best mic pre's for recording acoustic guitar.
They will be used mostly for "acoustic guitar" and an occasional vox.

Budget is tight. I have the Control 24 so whatever pair I get would have to be a
significant improvement over the Focusrites. I don't know if that's possible with a 1k price
budget. Maybe I should wait till my budget increases. or just but one good pre for now.

I have read up on the ART Tube MP Personal Tube Mic Preamp, GRACE DESIGN 101
MIC PREAMP, Joe Meek and such. Am I wasting time with these guys?

Anyone know of a great pair of pres in the $500-1000 range that would compete with the
big boys? I've had API's, Neve 1073's, Telefunken V76's, Avalon and Manleys in the past
but all is gone now due to $$$. It's a drag but life goes on.

V76's and 1073's were my all time favorites. Would love to have something that comes
close to either of these. I know! I know! I'm dreaming but maybe there's a puppy out there for me.

You know, in the time you spent posting this to every message board you could find (I've counted 6 different boards that I myself frequent) you could have searched out reviews on some of those brands, possibly even searched out old threads about the units you mentioned, and ultimately gotten your own answer.

Instead, there's 6 threads, and before me, 0 replies.
 
Theres a vintech on ebay right now thats 2 channels of neve 1073.

Not everyone reads every message board and I have received a few serious leads by doing
this. I've read every possible review and was only looking for real world help.

I offered you a help over on Massenburg's forum by giving you the link to an extensive discussion over here. Instead of following the link, you just littered this forum with redundant crossposting.
