HELP! Need some advice on how to turn monitor off during recording.

I am using AA CS6 and have tried everything I know. I want to have the output (monitors) only on playback, not on recording.
Is there a way to do this? Probably something simple, but Ive been trying to make this happen all day.
Can someone please help me out on this and coach me how? Anyone know about this? help!!

If you're talking about monitoring in general, that's a function of your audio interface, not Audition. Most people want to turn down any speakers involved but keep monitoring feeding to headphones--how to achieve this depends on your set up outside Audition and your computer.



However, if you're speaking just about the tracks being recorded, make sure the little "I" button on the track control in multitrack is NOT enabled.
