I just started to record and mix with my PC (so I couldn't have been any less experienced) and all I could come up with is this:

Please tell me how to make this sound better!

THANKS!!!

Nice tune...

Kick sounds weak and the drums don't seem to blend well with the "heavily effected" guitars. Vocals sound nice.

The song is very LOUD ! But doesn't seem to be a loud kinda' song. Still I liked it and maybe some of the more seasoned guys on the board can give you some better pointers.

BTW: The guy in the office next to mine came in and said "What the hell was that?" when the song started. (I had on headphones). :D

See Ya
Dennis

PS: You might wanna' try http://www.nowhereradio.com to host you tunes. I had to download to listen.

RE: good stuff

Hi there. first of all i think it's really good for the first time. u've achieved over all sound level near commercial level without losing good mix.

I would like to know how u've done that !

thanx!

sounds...

Thanks, I'm very flattered!

I'm using:

Hardware:
2 x SM57 and 1 x Samson S12(for kick)
Behringer 8-channel mixer
Midiman Delta Audio 44 (soundcard)
Duron 700 computer (4,3 gb/192mb)
Software:
Cool Edit Pro 2
All the plugins are from CEPro2

-Drums were recorded w/ 4 mics(kick,snare, 2x overheads)
-Guitars were recorded with 2 x SM57 (using two amps at the same time: transistor and tube)
-Bass went straight to mixer and the to computer (no DI-box)
-Vocals to SM57 to mixer to computer
-Keyboards straight to computer.

At CEPro2 I added some compression to drums, bass and vocals.
To snare track some reverb, and to vocals also...(+ delays)

How can I make the snare sound be thicker? And how the kickdrum should be EQ:ed to make it be more "clearer" (but still have the bottom end)???
These are my main problems, but also all the other suggestions and tips are welcomed :)

thanks!
