help me design the best recording computer for under $1000

My computer is sort of running on it's last legs here, and I want to upgrade to a new machine. Help me design the best computer I can get for recording for under $1000. I'd like to be able to get good graphics as well incase I end up wanting to do something that's graphics intensive, but it's not the most important. This will be used with a Delta 1010.

Of course I know theres no "best"... more like, what would you spend your money on given this hypothetical situation.
