I had a brand new Firewire 410 that worked fine. Then one day I stopped being able to record my keyboards using the analog inputs.

I bought a Delta 1010 and I could record through the analog ins but I sold it becuase I didn't like it.

I replaced the firewire PCI card and got a brand new Profire 610. I had the same problem with it. So I returned it and got a Fast Track Ultra only to find out that I have the same problem. What's should I do?

Well, a couple of things I can think of:

First, Firewire audio (and M-Audio in particular) are pretty picky about the firewire chipset in use. Basically, if it's not the TI chipset, expect problems, so check what your firewire interface is using.

Second, my M-Audio Profire Lightbridge is also picky about the switch one order. Basically I have to have the M-Audio box connected and switched on, THEN boot the computer and let it detect the Profire. Any other order and it doesn't work properly.

Downloading the latest drivers is always a good idea too.

Finally, as I'm sure you know, you have to go through the M-Audio menu to assign inputs and outputs, set the sample rate, etc. It's worth just double checking both the M-Audio control and also the inputs to whatever DAW you're using to make sure all the routings are right...and reset and save them just in case something has become corrupted.

Beyond that, I suspect we need some more details of exactly what's happening (what lights are on, error messages received, etc etc. before we can give any more specific advice.

thanks for the help.

The blue light on the Profire 610 and the Firewire 410 are on. There aren't any error messages
