I just got a Delta 410 today, and I'm afraid I'm completely lost with how to use it. What I want to do is use the s/pdif in (the source being my Roland VS-890) for recording and playback, BUT, I want to playback on my Sound Blaster Live X-Gamer 5.1 . I've tried messing around with the default input devices and the source to record from (ie, the s/pdif in), but I've had no luck up to this point.
Also, I'm sure the card was installed properly, since I tried the normal stereo analog input and that worked (although, it did not playback from what I can tell, but I was able to record it using Audacity).

Any help is much appreciated.

Why do you want to use the sblive at all? The 410 has 8 outputs of its own.

Does it really matter? I know the easiest solution would be just to not use the SB Live, but I also play games and watch tv/movies my computer, etc.
I'm planning on hooking studio monitors up to the Delta 410 when I can afford them.

The Delta 410 works perfectly fine with games, movies etcetera. I've owned one myself and it worked without headaches.
There is no reason why you shouldn't hook up anything you're using for playback (PC speakers?) to the Delta.

I know this is not what you want to hear but I assume you want the best advice possible.

Of course it's not what I wanted to hear, that's why I posted here.
Oh well, typical forum goon not being helpful to a newbie. Thanks anyways.

Yep, and you just screwed yourself over. As a newbie, you really shouldn't be dissing senior members.
