I am fairly uninformed when it comes to effects processors. I have been running my guitar straight into my Marshall JCM 800 for years. It is time to expand my sound.
Any help or opinions are appreciated.
I am looking for the following (maybe I am dreaming and this combination of options does not even exist...)
A multiple pedal set up that has the ability for me to assign each pedal a certain effect and a certain amount of that effect for a song to song switch in a live setting. So the chorus effect could be important in the first song of the set and would occupy space #1. In the second song Space #1 would be occupied by reverb and so on.
I want a overdrive/distortion sound that is HUGE! MASSIVE! Like when Neil Young kicks on the effect he has once and a while and it sounds like an aeroplane taking off!!
I don't mind spending a lot of money to get top quality sounds, but I think I need a pedal-based system because I can't keep going back to the rack to change settings.
Can you run a activating pedal unit in tandem with a rack unit and use the pedal board to select various effects from the rack??
Anyway...
I would love to hear some model and brand names you guys like
or some links to sites that have information on various units.
Thank you in advance.
