Ok, I don't know what is going on or what I pressed accidentally but I now can't hear my soundfonts!!! I'll load a SF into a midi track, I'll select the IN to be MIDI OMNI, the out is the 3-A: SB Live! Midi Synth, the Channel is a Sound FOnt Device Channel, and I select the Bank the I loaded, but when I go and select the patch, if the patch is before patch 1, like they normally are, no sound comes out. Patches 1-127 work fine but the patch I was using no longer sounds. THis was working fine last night and this morning for some reason it stopped. Please HELP!!!

Carlos

What soundfonts did you use ?
If the patch for the bank doesn't exist, SONAR will subtitute it with the patch of the bank 0 (GM). Eg. for example if there's no patch exist for bank Golddrums patch 3, then you'll hear "chorused piano" sound as it exist in patch 3 bank 0 (preset). Post more detail, and may be I can help you out...

Specifically I'm using soundfonts that did work fine for many days that I've downloaded from thesoundsite dot com like ViolinMutedSTRV(4,631kb) and CelloLangtons(1,852kb).

Go to your Audio HQ --> Soundfont. And make sure you load some GM soundfont as Synth Bank. Reopen SONAR, and try again...

Does it help ?

Tried that James and that didn't work. What did work was to go into the Vienna SF Editor, open the .sf2 there and then for some strange reason it worked again in Sonar... BUT... when I closed the file and reopened, I had the same problem again; SF wouldn't play!!!

Gee, that's strange... the file could be corupt or something. Just curious, what if you load the soundfont with Livesynth Pro DXi ?

Weird... I rebooted the computer and now everything is fine!!! I just got really worried because I had spent all night working on this new piece and was sounding really nice with a cello and a violin doing a thing in an immitative counterpoint; but everything's well now. Thanks anyways James.

Reboot fixes "almost" every problem... ;)

That's the first thing I do when I encounter a problem. :)

That's what I like about computers over women. When I get unhappy, I can "shut it down". And if I stuck, I reboot it... :D

LOL!!!!! :D

Do you have much experience of getting stuck "in" women? That's something I didn't need to know...

:D

FYI, you can 'shut down' a woman. But if you hit too hard, she won't be able to stand up.

:D

Lame joke, I'm sorry. I'm lucky my wife doesn't read this. LOL

And no, I don't hit my wife nor support hitting your wife or women in general....

Its nice to know that even Indonesian women present the same challenge as European and American versions:)

You rarely need to reboot a woman in my experience, they usually have enough pairs of shoes to fill at least 2 wardrobes and can reboot themselves several times a day without any help!

Good point! :D

But "my woman" only has a couple of pair more than me... Then what?
