Help Getting Started wit Vegas Video

I just got Vegas 3.0 tryna play around wit it see what it can do. I imported an avi to the media pool then dragged it to the track view...i press play i hear the sound but i don't see video. I'm not sure if the black screen on the lower right is suppose to show it but u'll see the #'s where frames are changing but i can't see anything what am i doing wrong?

Sounds like you have moved the .avi into track view, but you didn't draw it.

Use the pencil tool (should be activated by default) and while the cursor is in the track view area, click and drag. You should see the video frames appear.

If that is not the problem, I suggest launching one of the tutorials that come with V V 3 - they are very helpful.
