help for pro tools noobie midi controller set up

I am just starting to explore pro tools (9). How do I get my midi controller (yamaha keyboard) to control virtual instrument (in this case the db-33) I have the db-33 insert set up in a new track, and I can play it with the mouse, but I am confused how to set up my controller. It is going through my firewire interface, which is recognized by pro tools. But I can't figure out how to send the midi to the db-33.

Most modern USB keyboard controllers will just be recognized, as long as they're plugged in and turned on before you launch pro tools. Then when you select any software instrument tracks in Pro Tools, you'll just be able to play. Make sure you have run any install disc that came with your yamaha keyboard.
