mucis procedure
hey, just got an m-audio audiophile 2496 soundcard. with my recording software, i cant play the audio (playback) and on my synhtesizer keyboard via audio in. On the M-audio delta control panel, i have the select waveout 1/2 to listen to the playback and select H/W in 1/2 to record or play from my keyboard but i cant hear them both. i need them to play both to listen to the playback audio and jam with my keyboard. is it really the 2496 designed like this?

ps. maybe you have suggestion on my delta 44 currently in shipment right now

I think the trick you may be looking for is to use the Delta Panels monitor mixer. Select this as H/W out 1&2 using the patchbay/router. Then you should hear anything that you have turned up and un-muted in the mixer.
You can still record just the input.
The Audiophile gives recording programs 3 inputs pairs.
1&2 are the analog ins.
3&4 is the s/pdif digital in.
5&6 is the output of the monitor mixer - a "what u hear" input.
Some programs see these as
Delta AP Multichannel 1&2
Delta AP S/PDIF
Delta AP Monitor Mixer
and some as
Delta AP Multichannel 1&2
Delta AP Multichannel 3&4
Delta AP Multichannel 5&6
While the outputs are
1&2 the analog outs
3&4 the s/pdif out.
