OK...I am brand new to Sonar.

I am trying to learn the ropes, if you will, with this thing. However, when I try to import a WAV file it doesn't play correctly.

I go to File/Import/Audio and choose a 16bit/44k file. When I press the Play button to preview it play fine. However, when I press OK and import it the pitch has been changed dramatically.

What am I doing wrong?

Hmmm... what samplerate are you using in the project?

Are you importing an Acidized file?

I believe the sample rate for the project is 16bit/44k. It is a stereo 16/44 wav that I originally extract from a CD in SoundForge.

I just tried it to hear if it would play...

Sonar shouldn't have a problem with this. But SoundForge can export Acidized files. Are you sure you haven't done this?

Is the file (in Sonar) a Groove Clip?

Basically a clip that can be altered in tune by placing markers in Sonar and the clip will follow tempo changes. Ideal for bass-riffs and drum clips. And you can drag the "end" of the clip and it will repeat it self for ever. :)

Look in the manual for a "in depth" explanation.

So far I am only demoing Sonar. So, as of yet, I have no manual...

It sounds to me as if is has done some sort of sample rate thingy. Though, the wav file that I am attempting to import is 16/44, the same as the Sonar project (at least, I think...)

Thank you for your responses.
Harold
