i'm deciding between some shit to buy .does anyone have advice on what will serve me better;

i think they're kinda similar. i'll be plugging mics and guitars in to record on my win XP laptop using cubase SX .

anyone have an opinion?

The great thing about those products is that you also get headaches and heartaches thrown in for free.

Don't waste your time, save your money and get a M-Audio Firewire Audiophile or something that hooks up via pcmcia. Anything but USB1

NEWSFLASH:

Ok...here is my one good deed for the year....(are you watching Santa?) Check this out:

http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/M_Audio/Duo-01.html

First link is my experiences...the second link is reviews from other users...a couple of whom had the exact same experiences....and I know of even more people who have had the same problems.

If you are gonna use this for your laptop that is running XP....DO NOT BUY THE DUO!

Trust me....Trust me....don't think...MAYBE it will work for you...it will not!

One of the guys from the second link..said that he returned his and got the UA-5, I would definitely try that one first...he said he is very pleased with it...and that it has a lot better drivers than the shitty ass M-Adudio!

Consider yourself WARNED!!!! I may have just saved you a few years off of your life!

"We now return you to your locally scheduled program...."

Cheers Winston
That sounds like some hard to argue with advice.
i don't s'pose anyone has any experiences or testimonials regarding the Edirol?
is that asking too much?
