Hey guys, Just got my Delta 44, cool, BUT when using the outputs i can only get it to come through the left side, i have tried everything, i think. I used my headphones, computer speakers, stereo system, i tried using the delta mixing software to pan it right and left but it still only comes out one speaker. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
-Andrew

Go into the delta control panel (software mixer) and crank up all the levels, make sure you dont have any of the mutes checked off or solos checked off and check off all the stereo gangs (this isnt where youll keep your settings .. just trying to get you up and running.....then go into patchbay/router and see what outputs you have checked off...if you have 3/4 checked off then your output will come out of those channels(i think)...im guessing now you may only have plugged into one of them?.....try going from both into whatever you are monitoring with...

hmm... tried that still nothing out of the other speaker... any other ideas?
Thanks

On the software mixer's, put both faders all the way up at 0 on the master volume......play something thru it and see if the master volume vu meter is showing something going into the left and right channel

and are you listening to something already recorded or are you trying to monitoring something you are putting thru the inputs....try both....

and use outputs 1 and 2 and under the patchbay/router check off monitor mixer.....

and if its only when monitoring inputs, it may be that you are only going into one input....input 1 is left and 2 is right.....if you are only going into input 1, it will only come out the left channel....if you are recording mono, this is fine.....

The outputs of the Delta are balanced MONO outs, If you plug headphones into one of them you will only hear one side, if you are plugging a stereo connector into just one output then that's your problem. If not, I dont have a clue what could be causing it.

Good Luck

ok using a mono adapter i was able to get it to go through the left and right side of my stereo system, I guess because its mono i cant get sound out of my back sorround sound speakers which is annoying. im thinking that i should put my old sound card back in and use that outputing sound.and the delta for inputing what do you guys think?
Let me know.
Thanks
-Andrew

The Delta has 4 outputs, you should be able to set it up so that output 1 goes to 'Left Front', output 2 goes to 'Right Front', output 3 goes to 'Left Rear' and 4 goes to 'Right Rear' or something along those lines.

If you are connecting the outs to a home stereo system which probably has RCA input connectors you will need two stereo (or 4 single) RCA cables and four of those 1/4" male to RCA Female adaptors, just plug the 1/4" adaptors into the Delta's 4 outs and connect the RCA cables to the 4 inputs of the stereo. Don't worry about the adaptors being unbalanced, they should still work.

You will then need to go into the software control panel and assign things to the 4 seperate channels.

For connecting to consumer equipment, like a home stereo, you will need to set the output levels to -10 instead of +4.

hey, two more questions...
1. Is it possible so that when i play mp3s through winamp that i can control the volume with winamps volume control? because it stoped working. If so how?

and

2. When recording two tracks at once, in cool edit pro, according to the manual there should be a, pcm 1/2 in right, option, and a, pcm 1/2 in left, option, so that i can record on seperate tracks. But im not seeing that, all i'am seeing is a pcm 1/2 in. Any ideas?

Thanks Everyone,
-Andrew

Gidge, sorry must have read over that one too quickly...

Ive never used Cool Edit Pro, but I have a copy of the SE edition, so Ill give it a shot...first arm two tracks by clicking the red r....then on each of the two tracks, in between where the pan/volume boxes are and the mute/solo/record buttons are two boxes (on mine at least)....click the bottom one and it gives you the option to choose which device you want to record from, if you want it to record to the left, right, or stereo....set track one to left and track two to right ....try this much and see how far it gets you and then holler back at me....

I know you are probably getting pretty frustrated at this point, but hang in there...once you get it going it will be all worth it....

As far as Winamp is concerned, Ive been told here you should definitely be able to do it, but Ive never got an answer as to how exactly to do it...maybe we should start a new thread on that....

Gidge, Man your good! quick response and just the answer i needed. I can't test it out now, (too late) but im sure thats it. If anyone knows how to get the winamp thing to work let me know.
thanks again,
-Andrew
