I have been having crackles in my recorded tracks in Audiophile, after looking the archieves here, I made some treakings with my PC.

BTW, my PC specs are: PIII 800, 256M RAM, Asus CUV4x mobo, VIA chipset, Windows 98se, CW PA9

The tweaks that seems to improve the condition is when I lower the PCI latency timer in my BIOS and enabling read and write cach in Cakewalk.

I have also set my DMA and latency to the max value. But I still get crackles by the fourth recorded track.

I also have a SBlive card in my PC. (I never had any problem with this card)

The only thing I haven't touch is the IRQ settings. Please help! I am lost and frustrated! :(

I had a problem with my 2496 crackling and switched back to the .27 drivers and that eliminated it.

yup, just saw the thread on that.... will give it a try when I'm home... :)

I really hope this does it... it's driving me nuts!

yay! success!!!!!

I just came back from lunch at home and quickly reinstall the driver to 22.27, after that I quickly recorded 6 tracks from my JV1010. Perfect! works like a charm! :) no more irritating crackles!

Thank God for this bbs and acidrock! :)

when I was chacking the old threads, this seems to be a common issue to delta card users.... Midiman should has this documented somewhere on their site.... it would have make life a lot easier....
