Can someone help me with this, I’m trying to get
the tracks from a Fostex FD8 to my PC, the sound card

is a Terratec DMX they are connected to the optical I/O

and I’m recording with Wavelab light.

The tracks on the FD8 are perfect but when I put them

on to hard drive I’m getting click sounds in the tracks,

not only in the hi peaks but in quiet parts of the tracks

as well, the recording levels are ok so I don’t think the

problem is there, what am I doing wrong

You're not alone

I get the same thing when I create .wav files. I would also like to know what causes this.

Well if you'r volume is set low like you said then it's not clipping . Have you tried using a different program likke Cool edit 2000 I think they have a free version of it at Http:\\www.syntrillium.com. If that doesn't work try boosting up your memory, if you don't have alot.

It sounds like a classic clock mismatch. Terratec and and Wavelab websites should have troubleshooting info if the online help or manuals don't. Check there and try what they suggest.
