Hey all! First time poster, I sure hope someone can help... I just spent almost 3K on what all reviews and my superiors would call some really great gear. After about 8 hours of running around getting all the proper cables and what not, we got the Rosetta 200 rocking with Pro Tools, sounding great! Even bounced a couple mixes with and without it, heard the difference for sure.

All was well, until today when I tried to use the Chameleon Labs 7602 Preamp I just bought to plug into the new Rosetta 200, and I got NO signal whatsoever on both the Rosetta and also going into Pro Tools. Tried seemingly everything, but I admit my knowledge is limited. It seemed like the pre-amp was DOA, until I thought to bypass the Rosetta and put the preamp directly through my crappy old m-audio interface. The preamp was definitely functional that way - albeit with not so great quality (due to the m-audio), but I could tell the pre was doing it's job because it was giving the mic Phantom Power and when I rode the volume it effected the output I was recording into Pro Tools.

Any thoughts on possibly a line-in setting in Pro Tools that I've neglected, or perhaps a setting on the front of the actual Rosetta 200 unit that needs to be chosen to get it to acknowledge the pre-amp?

Specs:
Chameleon Labs 7602 Preamp
Apogee Rosetta 200 with X-Firewire

I'm using the only XLR out of the back of the preamp to get to the analog input on the Rosetta. I know there are two analog in's (L and R) on the back of Rosetta, and I've tried both of those (with proper input setting chosen in record mode of Pro Tools, accordingly).

Out of the Rosetta, there is only a firewire going into the computer. So I'm pretty sure I have the cabling and preamp to converter chain dialed in correctly, just not getting any results. Any help or thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Are you plugging your preamp into the port labelled "analog 1" or "analog 2" on the rosetta?

Is the cable definitely ok?

You say you bounced a couple of mixes with, and without the rosetta and definitely heard a difference?
This makes no sense to me. Bouncing is (usually) the process of converting digital multitrack to digital stereo. The rosetta is irrelevant here.

Make sure your source to digital output is set to analog on the Rosetta.
