HELP ------ BURN CD???

Hi,
I have a Fostex fd4 digital recording 4-track - and I was wondering if there was a way of getting my tracks from my fd4's internal drive to my computer - so I can burn them onto CD?

I have an Adaptec SCSI card with an external output (my CDR is connected through this...., but my soundcard has no output sockets. Do you think I could connect the external scsi connection of my fd4 to the scsi card in my computer????

Your soundcard has no outputs? How exactly does that work?

Anyway, if you can connect the Fostex to the soundcard then you can record the songs on the computer as wav files and then burn a CD. If the Fostex has digital outs and your soundcard has digital ins then that's probably your best choice for connecting the two. Otherwise you should be able to go from whatever output on the multitracker to the line in on the soundcard and make it work. Play the song on the Fostex, and record it on the computer. Any software that can record a wav file will work to record the song on the PC. Something like Goldwave would be the inexpensive route (free for the most part).

I would guess that you couldn't connect the SCSI on the Fostex to the computer, but check the Fostex manual and tech support to see if it's possible. Most of these units with external SCSI ports are only intended for connecting external SCSI peripherals to the multitracker. Even if you could connect to the PC via SCSI, there's probably a format difference that would have to be worked around. Maybe Fostex has something to convert if that's the case, but I don't have one so I don't know.
