Unpossible!
Hey -

Since the search function is gone, can anyone point me to some desk building plans? Especially for a ghost 24.

Thanks,

NL5

Keep the desk as low as you can, and don't put your monitors on the shelf - too easy to get early reflections off your desktop or mixer. Instead, buy/build separate monitor stands for BEHIND the desk, and make sure the stands do NOT place your woofers within 5-6 inches of dead center between floor and ceiling (if ceiling is sloped, do this measurement at the monitor location)

Kinda rushed at the moment, but if you want more info let me know and I'll post a few links as to setting up in any room... Steve

yeh could you PM me some more info, thanks

While I haven't started assembling my console table yet, mine's going to be a steel open frame table, supporting a tremendous amount of gear. This is why I've chosen to use square steel tubing, rather than wood. I can use narrower pieces of steel which will be stronger and easier to make structurally.

My console table will be holding the following gear:

(2) TMD-4000 Tascam digital mixers
(http://www.gearpreview.com/music/mix/tmd4k.html)

(6) TMD-1000 Tascam digital mixers
(http://www.gearpreview.com/music/mix/tmd1k.html)

(1) Akai DL-1500 remote control
(http://www.gearbox.com/products/digitalmultitrack/akai.html#)

(16) ADC 144TT Patch Bays
(http://www.audiovillage.org/patch.html)

(4) Motu 2408 MKII (I use these as adat-tascam format converters)

(1) Aardvark Aardsync II
(http://www.aardvark-pro.com/clock-shootout-401.html)

(2) 19" Mag monitors

Various audio monitors (sub on floor under desk)

(1) 2U computer KVM switch box (8 ports, for computer, Akai DL1500, and six DR-16 16-ch hard disk recorders mounted in the side wall)

(2) Oz Audio HR-4 headphone amplifiers

(1) dbx 376 tube pre-amp (which is a nice unit for the money, BTW)

(1) TC Helicon Vocal Prism Pro
(http://www.dv247.com/invt/15226&layout=dvpro_main&temp=dvprodetail)

Etc.

The gear will be laid out on an angle from the desk surface, which will be 1' deep, with an embedded trackball and an embedded 101 PS-2 style keyboard, going the width of the console desk made out of a a few marblized green high durability counter tops, which match the producer's desk counter top. Same stuff, not super expensive, and has a nice smooth finish.

The goal is to have all the triangulation underneath and towards the back of the desk, so I sitting on a deskchair, and slide from side to side without hitting my knees on anything.

Of course I wouldn't have this problem if I wasn't such a gear slut. :D

Well, I kinda did it. Went from this (that I had just built) - I was planning on going mixer-less, but got one of those "can't pass it up" kinda deals.

How are you adjusting to the Monitor being on a bridge. When I built my new desk I made sure the monitors were at desk level to make viewing easier on my neck. Especially during long sessions.

Knightfly has a MAJOR point. When my monitors were on the bridge I had issues around 400Hz. Dropped them down midrange is flat as a pancake and really clear :)

It's only there temporarily. I am kinda "building on the fly". Once the desk is finished, the monitors will be back on the stands as in the first pic, and I will build a stand for th monitor. It will just be about 6 inches farther back than in the first pic.

The desk is still all braced up with the glue drying. I just wanted to do a quick test fit of the Ghost.

Crap. Just measured mine. The woofers are almost EXACTLY dead center. Crap!
