help before sumthin blows up

id have to say im completely retarded with recording, especially usb recording now that iim not first gettin into it. i have an alesis multimix8 with cubase LE and the manuals and troubleshooting dont do sh!t for me and are hardly any help at all. are there any sites or knowledge bases that can guide me through the basics of usb recording.?

so far alot of bad stuff has happened, mainly troubles with the selection of the inputs and outputs. audio will record and wont playback, audio wont recorda t all,etc. etc.

I don't use a hardware mixer, but don't you still need a recording soundcard?
