I've inherited some effects processors, including an Alesis EQ, a Rane DC24 and an Aphex Aural Exciter. Good stuff apparently, and I bought an Alesis Multimix 16 USB mixer to connect it all together.

Basically, I'm recording voice overs to the computer, mxing them with music and then outputting to cassette. Simple stuff.

What's the best way to connect the effects processors? All three allow two channels, but given I'm only using a microphone, I'll only need one. Do I simply run a mono plug from the mixer's AUX SEND to the first processor's input, then from the output to the next processor's input, etc., and then back to the mixer's AUX RETURN? Is that the normal method?

Sorry if these are really, really basic questions. My last mixer was setup by someone else and I'm trying to learn how it all works! Thanks for the patience and good advice I know you'll provide :D

The way I would do it for a live gig would be to send the aux outs to the processors, and return them each to a seperate channel. Mix the efx channels with the other channels and output to the main L-R output. If you have an insert on the main output, thats where you can put the EQ.
