Hello,

I'm about to buy some recording equipment and I'd like to get some opinions on wether my choices are compatible or not.

heres the deal:

I plan on purchasing a digidesign 002 rack unit

and

a PowerBook 1.33GHz (17" TFT) Z07X
1.33GHz PowerPC G4 065-4470
80GB Ultra ATA drive @ 4200rpm 065-4467
SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW) 065-4469
AirPort Extreme Card 065-4677
1GB DDR333 SDRAM - 2 SO-DIMMs

also, I plan on buying a good, fast firewire harddrive for the system.

I cant find on digidesign's site any confirmation that the laptop that i want to buy is in fact compatible.

here is a link to the area of the digidesign site that shows the compatibility.....

http://www.digidesign.com/compato/osx/002/

Please help,
Thanks a lot.

please, i really want some more opinions on this.

i'm worried about getting dropouts and having my recording stop because i have too many tracks going (recording or playback) or I have too many plugins on with only one processor... i believe that a dual processor machine is reccomended

I should note that i plan on using a fast/large firewire hard drive.

what do you all think?

I dont foresee compatibility issues provided this is a fairly new G4.
The number of tracks and effects will be dependent on CPU speed and memory. You have plenty of memory but the CPU is just a bit on the slow side.
