Hello,

I'm about to buy some recording equipment and I'd like to get some opinions on wether my choices are compatible or not.

heres the deal:

I plan on purchasing a digidesign 002 rack unit

and

a PowerBook 1.33GHz (17" TFT) Z07X
1.33GHz PowerPC G4 065-4470
80GB Ultra ATA drive @ 4200rpm 065-4467
SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW) 065-4469
AirPort Extreme Card 065-4677
1GB DDR333 SDRAM - 2 SO-DIMMs

also, I plan on buying a good, fast firewire harddrive for the system.

I cant find on digidesign's site any confirmation that the laptop that i want to buy is in fact compatible.

here is a link to the area of the digidesign site that shows the compatibility.....

http://www.digidesign.com/compato/osx/002/

Please help,
Thanks a lot.

I'm almost absolutely sure that it's compatible. I don't have any proof though..

My friend is using a dual 1ghz G4 Mac with the 002. I think you should be fine.

thanks for the reply.!

Do you think that the lack of dual processors is going to affect me noticably? (this question is for you and/or anybody who can help)

for instance,. during multi track simultaneous recording, or use of plugins do you think that my system would fail?

Thanks for the help

well, i plan on using a 7200 rpm external firewire drive for recording, so i figured that i wouldnt need a very fast internal...

any thoughts?

my main concern is wether or not I'll be able to make full use of multitrack simultaneous recording and also to make full use of plugins...

i just dont want to have my machine stop recording suddenly because my processor is too slow or I dont have enough ram...

I really want a laptop over a tower.

Thanks for yor help, guys
